Construction cost estimating in Malaysia
Ask for any unit rate in plain language, generate a ballpark budget from a one-line brief, watch the prices that move your margin, and see how tender prices have shifted — all grounded in Malaysian material, labour and machinery cost data.

The problem with pricing a Malaysian project
The number you need is rarely the number you have. Published rate books age. A colleague's spreadsheet is from the last job, in a different state, at a different time. Steel and cement move between the day you price and the day you build. So estimators spend their time hunting for a defensible rate rather than thinking about the estimate.
Caprix puts that lookup one question away, and keeps the surrounding context — which period, which state, which cost family — attached to the answer.
Four agents for cost data
AI Ask — unit rates
Ask for a rate the way you would ask a colleague: "unit rate for reinforced concrete grade 30 in Selangor". 2 credits a question, on every plan.
AI Estimate — ballpark budgets
Turn a one-line project brief into an order-of-magnitude budget for early decisions. 5 credits. Pro & Max.
AI Trends — how prices moved
Chart cost and tender-price movement across past periods, including the tender price index for Peninsular Malaysia. 5 credits. Pro & Max.
AI Track — price watchlist
Pin up to 10 rates and let them refresh themselves as new periods publish. Each card shows the change and a six-period trendline. Pro & Max.
Rates that reflect where you are building
Material, labour and machinery
Every answer sits in one of the three cost families, so you always know whether you are looking at a delivered material price, a daily labour rate or an hourly plant hire figure.
The location index
Cost is not uniform across the country. Caprix applies a per-state multiplier across all fourteen states, so you can rebase a rate to the state the project is actually in — and, in the BOQ Builder, rebase a whole bill at once when you compare projects in different locations.
Rate build-ups and your rate library
When a published rate is not enough, build the rate up from its components — material, labour, plant, wastage, margin — and save the build-up to your rate library so the next project starts from your own figures rather than a blank row. The rate library is free on every plan; Corporate accounts add a shared company library alongside your private one.
From a question to a priced bill
Cost estimating and bill preparation are the same job at different resolutions, so Caprix keeps them in one workspace. Start with a question, move to a ballpark budget when the brief firms up, then build and price the actual Bill of Quantities when it is time to tender — carrying your rate build-ups across instead of retyping them.
